It’s Time to Question Our Soaps

It’s Time to Question Our Soaps

By Melanie Peres:

It’s time to take a good look at what we have been putting on our hands and on our loved one’s hands. We believe that washing with soap is always the best solution. But is it?

Regular hand soaps might just add more chemicals into our hands leaving them collecting germs for a long time. While we think we are helping our skin, we are actually damaging it. Harsh chemicals leave hands feeling tired and dry. Most soaps contain parabens, sulfates, and fragrances. These don’t do a good job killing bacteria and moisturizing the skin.

Our skin is the barrier of our bodies to the rest of the world. This is why we need to protect it and only use natural oils to clean it.

Here’s a quarantine project to do while stuck at home: check out all the ingredients in the bathroom. Ask yourself: are any of these ingredients harming my skin?

Sometimes we have to search up some of the long unreadable words that sound like crazy chemicals. This is the time to question it. Perhaps we used to think that these products were saving us from dangerous germs, but natural products have done a healthy version of sanitizing forever.

Try using a natural tea tree oil soap that uses natural oils to kill bacteria with products like peppermint oil. Do the same for your body. Using natural oils to sanitize won’t leave your skin dry and moisture-free.
